Mission

The Friends of the Orange County Animal Shelter (FOCAS) was formed in 2004 to help support and enhance the general operation of the Orange County Animal Shelter. FOCAS may also address more general animal welfare issues which affect North Carolina animals and animal shelters.

FOCAS is an organization of volunteers, independent of Orange County government and operating with its own elected Board of Directors. Membership is open to any individual or organization committed to supporting the FOCAS mission. Everyone is welcome at the meetings.

Make a Donation to Help the Animals

If you would like to help all those adorable animals at the Orange County Animal Shelter, a donation will go a long way in helping to find them new homes. FOCAS is a 501(3)c nonprofit group, so your donation is tax deductible. FOCAS can accept any form of payment thru Paypal: credit card, debit card, check, cash--and it all goes to help those wonderful animals at the shelter. It's easy--just click on the "donate" button in the next column.

We thank you, and the animals thank you!

A Few of Our Current Goals are to:

Ways You Can Help Our Animals

We need volunteers who are willing to spend a few hours a month to help improve the lives of Orange County's homeless pet population. We have several programs that facilitate contact between potential adopting families and the shelter's animals.
We also need volunteers for a few weekend hours each month to accompany our precious shelter dogs or puppies to and from retail centers to increase their visibility so more animals can find lifetime homes. We also need members to assist with fundraising. Our aim is to improve the quality of life for Orange County's homeless animals.

Please become a part of the solution and help save our animals! Click on the banner image below to visit FOCAS Volunteer Room where you can download the FOCAS Volunteer Application.

Please be patient while our photos load in the slider below and you'll see some wonderfull adoptable animals at the Orange County Animal Shelter.
