FOCAS Volunteer Room

Welcome to the FOCAS Volunteer Room
We need volunteers who are willing to spend a few hours a month to help improve the lives of Orange County's homeless pet population. We have several programs that facilitate contact between potential adopting families and the shelter's animals. We have an outreach pet adoption center at Dubeys Pet World in the University Mall in Chapel Hill which needs people willing to spend a few hours socializing with the animals and talking to people who might be interested in adopting a homeless animal. We also need volunteers for a few weekend hours each month to accompany our precious shelter dogs or puppies to and from retail centers to increase their visibility so more animals can find lifetime homes. We also need members to assist with fundraising. Our aim is to improve the quality of life for Orange County's homeless animals.

Membership meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of every other month at 4:00pm, usually at the Chapel Hill Public Library. Meetings are open to everyone.. Meeting location is posted on the FOCAS website (www.friendsofocas.org). We welcome all suggestions and strategies that can help improve the quality of life for our shelter animals and help them find loving homes. Donations are always welcome.

Please become a part of the solution and help save our animals!
